We were heading to Porto Skrofa, a place that had been recommended on Navily. It had only recently been developed with a number of buoys in a sheltered bay and a restaurant ashore.
The wind was kind so, for the first time since leaving Lefkas, we hoisted the sails and cruised south towards our destination.

On arrival in the bay, we picked up a buoy, settled into our new surroundings and had a swim.

As you can see, it's a stunning spot!
Going ashore for dinner, it was clear that this was no ordinary taverna.....

Inside, we met the owner, Janis, a local fish farmer who recognised the area for its natural beauty and the wetlands, a magnet for migratory birds including pelicans and flamingos. He started the project three years ago and has big plans for the area which we are sure will be a great success.
Dinner there was delicious with wild artichokes being a particular highlight.
Afterwards, one of the team took us back to the boat with the backdrop of this stunning sunset.

A great mooring spot that is highly recommended for anyone in the area and camping also available for those on wheels and birdwatchers in particular!
